“We adopted Cass on 2/25/2025 and have loved every single second! Through patience, love, and lots of snuggles, she’s settling into her forever home. When we adopted her, she had visible signs of previous trauma, low weigh and hair loss. Today, exactly one month with us, she has gained weight back, grown into her soft shiny coat, and is incredibly playful. Thank you LHS for making his possible. We aren’t too sure who adopted who!”

“We adopted spring in March of 2023 and she is doing great and has come a long way from being so shy. She loves to play with my other cat Duchess, and she likes to jump out at our two dogs and run away. Duchess has really taught her to be vocal. Spring now meows at us when she wants something or just to talk. She spends her most of her days window watching, playing, or taking a snooze! She’s a sassy girl and I absolutely adore her.”

“My boyfriend and I had a kitten under a year before I adopted Loki (Scar). We were looking for a companion for our kitten at home and wanted to add another kitten. The second I walked into the room where the cats were, I just KNEW Loki was for me. He wasn’t a kitten; however, his beautiful brown eyes and his pretty orange fur caught me. I call him my “twin” since I’m a blonde and it looks pretty similar. We adopted him together, we brought him home and boy, oh boy were we nervous for this change. We were told to leave our cats separated for a couple days due to them not knowing if Loki was able to be okay around cats. By day two they were already playing! There in my heart I knew I made the right decision on picking out Loki. He’s been such a sweetheart since we got him and is he sure talkative! He is the first cat I’ve ever had that sits in the sink while I do my hair/makeup, etc. and he’s the first cat who decides to open cabinets and sit in them. He sure gives me a good laugh every day. I’m so thankful for my fur babies 🐱❤️

“Demi has brought so much joy and laughter into our lives! She’s a great “lap dog” even though she is about 60 pounds but you can’t tell her she can sleep on your lap she will find away! She has been a great emotional support for my son who has autism and often times gets a little overwhelmed, but our Demi girl is there to snuggle him when he needs it the most ❤️”

“Aziza, now just Ziza, is the most lovable, furriest, happiest kitty I’ve ever met! We were so happy to bring her home last June! She constantly reminds us how happy she is by following us room to room, laying on our laps, and sleeping with us in our bed. She is the sweetest thing and has become BFFs with her sister, Roxi! They are both airport TSA when we bring groceries home, which is much appreciated, & they love to nap together.”

“Oliver (Stinky Boy) has become my companion in life. He brings me so much playfulness to my life. He is so smart and can learn trick easily. He loves other dogs, people, and squirrels 🙂 I cannot thank the LHS enough for having patience with me throughout the adoption process. Forever thankful for them uniting me with my Stinky Boy.”

“Hi guys, I didn’t realize you guys liked updates lol. So I’ll update you about my adoption 8 years later, you guys named her Bandit but I switched it to Charley, she’s the greatest girl ever with a huge sassy personality. She’s saved my life more than once and I honestly couldn’t imagine my life without her. She spends her days napping in my bed or picking on her brother (she’s not a huge fan of him but she deals) lol at 8 years old now (almost 9 in July) she gets the zoomies and love absolutely loved playing with strings from a sweatshirt lol. She also LOVES THE CAMERA, complete drama queen but the best. The joy she brings me is unlike any other. Thank you for allowing me to adopt her almost 9 years ago now.”

Often people create a will or estate plan for their belongings and their finances, but they do not always consider what will happen to their pet(s). Rarely do they consider what happens before they pass.

“While not everyone has resources to make a donation to a charitable organization, many of us do. Deciding who will receive our gifts can be a challenge. Here is how my friend, George, made that decision.”

“We adopted Bella 10 years ago and she had been my baby ever since, however my husband wanted a dog who was his. We adopted Bleu in December. I’m pretty sure he knows who’s dog he is! 😊”
