Often people create a will or estate plan for their belongings and their finances, but they do not always consider what will happen to their pet(s). Rarely do they consider what happens before they pass.
Who will take care of your pet should you end up in the hospital? Who will care for your pet after you are gone?
One of our longtime supporters was proactive and even helped us to understand the need for a plan. After speaking with her a few years back, we knew there were other people who may need these types of services as well, which inspired us to create our Guardianship Program. Because this supporter made a plan ahead of time, when she ended up in the hospital, our staff was able to go to her home to get her two cats and her dog.
During her time in the hospital, she was relieved to know her animals were being well cared for. Unfortunately, she never made it home from the hospital.
We are honored that she trusted us with her beloved pets and grateful to be able to fulfill her final wish of helping them find another loving home.
