Po was found on December 7 stumbling near the edge of the road. When he first arrived, we had to take immediate action in order to save his life. Every orifice, including his eyes, nose and mouth were covered in a thick, mud-like substance due to a severe upper respiratory infection, making it impossible for him to see or barely breathe.
Staff immediately jumped into action, bathing him, removing hay from the cat’s nostrils, and tending to his inflamed eyes. Weeks of antibiotics and around-the-clock care from our staff and amazing volunteers has shown a huge improvement in this cuddly kitten. Although his skin is still raw and healing from his massive infections, Po is now bright-eyed and playful. He’s finally embracing the life he thought he had lost.
Po is finally ready to leave the comfort and care of his foster mom, where he has been doted on and spoiled rotten while he fought through his medical issues. Getting used to the other cats at home was a bit tricky for Po at first, but now he's comfortable with them and loves their company. Po's favorite spot is his foster's mom lap, so if you're looking for a strictly indoor, clingy, cuddly kitty who will make all your bad days better, you absolutely need Po in your life.
A little note from Po's foster mom:
Po's condition was grave and he was in desperate need of medical care. He was estimated to be approximately 3 months old and weighed a mere 2.5 pounds. He was very dehydrated, congested and unable to eat on his own. I took him to my home that day for foster care. Po had a very slow recovery and required a great deal of medical care as well as love and general care. It also shows what a fighter this little guy is by the fact that he survived despite the odds against him.
He is a very affectionate cat and will seek out my lap and stay there until he is physically moved from his spot. I have spoiled this kitten by the sheer fact of the amount of one on one time and the amount of holding and loving I have given him. he plays a little with some of the house toys but much prefers to be a couch potato with me.
He loves to be held and sleeps near my face. He also loves to give face kisses. I know that Po will be a very loving and sweet baby to whoever becomes his furever family.
