ADRIAN, MI (April 29, 2016) – Lenawee Humane Society of Lenawee County, today announced it has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Petco Foundation to support its expansion to the Hope Clinic.
Lenawee Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no government support, serving Lenawee County and surrounding areas. In 2015 alone, Lenawee Humane Society provided over 1540 spay and neuter surgeries for shelter animals, publicly owned pets, and community cats.
The Petco Foundation investment will help Lenawee Humane Society offer more spay/neuter appointments to the public and begin offering additional services, such as low-cost vaccinations and wellness checks. These services are expected to help keep pets out of the shelter and in their homes.
“This grant is important to the successful expansion of our Hope Clinic, in order that we may be able to assist more community members with a low cost spay and neuter option. The support from the Petco Foundation demonstrates their commitment to community and organizations like the Lenawee Humane Society, which save lives every day,” said Marcie M. Cornell, Executive Director.
