In January we received a call from a woman who was having severe health issues and could no longer take care of her pets. Although she was heartbroken to part with them, she knew she didn't want them to suffer while she fought her personal battles. We knew right away we had to help her.
We didn't realize the challenge we had just accepted when she arrived at the shelter with her three cats. Although scared but sweet, her three cats were at the ripe ages of 12-15 years old. We had no idea how we were going to find adopters willing to open their hearts and homes to animals who may not have much more time to share with them.
To our surprise, it only took two months for Jeff and Mutt, the 15 year old inseparable pair, to find a home together! Their adopter fell in love with Jeff's sweet, cuddly personality and Mutt's spunky, adventurous attitude. We couldn't believe the happy ending these two kitties received.
Their adopter followed up with an update a few days later:
"Hey there you kind hearted not so furry friends. Just wanted to give you an update on Mrs. Jeff and Mutt.
They are both the sweetest seniors.
Mutt enjoys sleeping in the bed already. They seem to have no issues fitting in and getting cozy.
They will be spoiled until they head upstairs for their final furever home.
We promise.
Thanks again for your efforts and time doing what these animals need so desperately. You are all amazing people!!!"
Now that Jeff & Mutt are living happily ever after, we are still on a mission to find a home for the third senior, Snickers. With a quiet, sweet personality and a reduced adoption fee of $15, she's definitely an adoption option. Snickers may be 12 years old but she's beautiful and willing to share the rest of her life with you.
