Lenawee Humane Society was called to assist Lenawee County Sheriff's Department again on March 16, 2018 after they received tips that Sharon Kay Evans was housing numerous dogs at her residence.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence after hearing numerous barking dogs coming from inside the house and Evans was arrested for Violation of a Conditional Bond. The conditions of her bond stated specifically that she is not to own or possess any animal while the case is pending with the exception of one farm dog.
14 dogs, 7 cats, turkeys, chickens, ducks, a goose, a peacock, and a parrot were seized from the residence. Cascades Humane Society also assisted on-scene.
Only the dogs and cats are in custody at Lenawee Humane Society. Please understand that these animals are part of an ongoing case and no information can be released at this time. These animals were not part of the initial forfeiture and are not available for adoption, nor do we know when they will be.
Thank you for your ongoing support and patience.
