With the completion of Hope Clinic comes another amazing addition to Lenawee Humane Society, Dr. Erin Whalin, D.V.M!
Dr. Erin has always known it was her calling in life to become a veterinarian. She grew
up on a small farm in Grass Lake with her mom, dad, and little brother. On the farm, Dr. Erin learned the
value of hard work and developed an even deeper love for the animals in her care. Throughout high
school, Dr. Erin worked for a local animal hospital and humane society. After high school, she was
accepted into Michigan State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 2007
and then her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Today, Dr. Erin lives with her three adopted
dogs, four adopted cats, four horses, three steers, and her husband on a small farm near Jackson. She
enjoys horseback trail riding, playing with her animals, utilizing positive training techniques, being
outdoors, and anything associated with increasing animal welfare.
