Several days ago a kitten was found in rough shape in Wendy's parking lot in Tecumseh. His left eye was inflamed and he was covered in fleas and botfly larvae. Our Hope Clinic team worked on removing the parasites and larvae but soon realized the infestation was much worse than we first realized.
The kitten's coat required a complete shave in order to remove the botfly larvae. Once shaved, he was scrubbed clean and given parasite preventative to help control any remaining parasites. Once naked though, the little guy couldn't stop shivering. Our Hope Clinic team quickly fashioned a "kitten sweater" for him out of a sock – which he loves!
We named the little cutie "Dave" after Wendy's famous founder. After his wonderful care from our Hope Clinic team, Dave's eye is looking much better, his body is feeling much better, and he finally has a positive outlook on life.
Stay tuned for updates. Dave will be available for adoption as soon as he is healthy enough!
Please consider a donation to help us continue caring for Dave and other animals desperate for help just like him. We appreciate all of the love and life-saving support from each and every one of you – and so does Dave and his friends!
