Daryl was found by an Adrian Police Department officer on January 30th, 2015. He could barely open his left eye due to the large injury covering most of that side of his head. The officer thought the injured area was possibly a burn. Others thought maybe he had been hit with a blunt object. Hope Clinic's veterinarian, Dr. Whalin, was not on-site that day so Daryl was immediately rushed to Kelly Vet Clinic.
Luckily, Daryl's injury appeared worse than it really was. His wound was cleaned and he received a 10-day round of antibiotics along with the magical cone of glory to keep him from re-infecting the wound. His pride was hurt more than his head at that point and we knew it wouldn't take long for Daryl to make a complete recovery.
A little over a week later, Daryl's health and spirits were looking up so he was neutered at the Hope Clinic and finally placed up for adoption. It is believed that his injury was caused by another cat, but to this day we still have no proof as to what happened to this survivor. What we do know is that his new life will be better than ever.
Daryl has been sweet as can be throughout his entire recovery. Imagine what an amazing companion he'll make now that he is feeling well again! If interested in making Daryl a part of your family, submit your adoption application here.
