When Casper was surrendered to our organization, he was so terrified of human contact that he bolted from the safety of our shelter within hours of his arrival.
The exhausting two-day search finally ended after the scruffy pup was successfully captured in a live trap, lured there with the help of an older dog he had first arrived with.
We soon realized that Casper preferred the company of canines to people – in fact, play groups with other dogs became critical to his therapy and socialization sessions.
Within a few short weeks, these social sessions with other dogs quickly gave Casper the confidence he needed to begin looking for a family of his own.
In less than a month, Casper had transformed from petrified and untouchable to trusting and loving.
Casper’s joy and adoration were contagious when he chose his new family. His life had been saved and in that moment, he realized he actually had a life worth living.
Your incredible support not only saved Casper’s life, but also his spirit. Thank you.
