On September 22, 2017 at 2:28pm, a sick boxer puppy was found abandoned in Adrian. The puppy was severely underweight, lethargic, and dehydrated. We feared the worst and immediately ran a test for parvovirus. The postive result quickly confirmed our fears.
We named the puppy Natalie and promised her that we would try our best to save her life. Our Hope Clinic team sprang into action, quickly hooking the puppy up to an IV drip, wrapping her in towels to warm her up, and showering her with love through the entire process.
Parvo is a fatal disease with a 50% fatalitity rate, but we're determined to help Natalie fight as long as she's strong enough. Natalie went home last night with our shelter veterinarian, Dr. Sumner, to receive 'round-the-clock care. At this point, we're not sure if she'll survive, but we're determined to give her the best chance at survival as possible. She could use all the love and support you can send her.
Parvo is a costly virus to battle, so once again we're asking you for help. Please consider donating to Lenawee Humane Society as we struggle to create miracles from heartbreaks, day after day, hour after hour. With your help, we can help Natalie fight for the life she's just begun to live.
Watch the video below to see how sweet this baby is and stay tuned for updates on Natalie's progress. Thank you for helping us save her, and for reminding her that she matters too.
